Virpiniemi Sports Activities

The surroundings of Virpiniemi Sports Institute offer active pursuits for every taste. The area is by the sea, on a pine forest ridge with illuminated jogging paths and ski trails. Virpiniemi offers Ski stadium and ski jumping tower, Virpiniemi golf club, Disc golf, Animal sports centre, Beach, Marina and Caravan area.

Summer activities

With a descent from the 30-metre Virpiniemi ski jump tower, rope landing is a guaranteed high-flying experience!

Team-building activities are ideal for groups who want to develop their cooperation skills.

The team track consists of different kinds of tasks requiring teamwork and problem-solving skills. The tasks can be carried out outdoors or in the sports hall, and are tailored to each group depending on their needs and wishes.

Team-building activities are a great way for group members to become better acquainted with each other and improve interaction skills and promote group safety.

The climbing wall in the Sport Institute is 9.5 metres high and is suited to various levels of difficulty, making it a great choice for beginners and experienced wall climbers alike.

This option involves team-building activities related to wilderness skills.

The activities are carried out in groups as a playful competition requiring teamwork and problem-solving skills, such as setting up a tent and building a campfire. The tasks are designed to suit each group’s specific needs and wishes – and safety always comes first.

The wilderness track helps group members get to know each other better, and to improve their interaction skills and promote group safety.

As the name suggests, the aim of this activity is simply to have fun! It includes applied variations of different kinds of ball games.

The games will be planned to the group’s wishes. Among the possibilities are bum ball, Finnish baseball with soft balls, and giant football in groups of two or three with foam pool noodles.

Virpiniemi’s 18-hole disc golf course is right next to Virpiniemi Sports Institute, and is equally well suited to beginners and more experienced players.

Snow sculpting is great fun for all ages, and can be used to create magnificent pieces of art, build playgrounds or slides, amongst other things. This creative pursuit is equally enjoyable when carried out alone, in pairs or in a group. It requires analytic and logical skills as well as creative and visuals. Large-scale snow sculpting is a great way to improve teamwork and organisational skills.

Sculpting is also a fun way to get a good workout without really noticing, as it involves a wide variety of physical exertion such as ploughing, digging, lifting and crouching. The shoulders, arms and back get a particularly good workout.

This creative work done together in the fresh winter air is guaranteed fun!

Snowshoeing is easy and fun for all ages, no matter what your physical condition. And it’s super-easy, with no need for tracks, and you can choose your own pace and intensity as you get to know the lovely Virpiniemi area. A snowshoe hike to nearby Runtelinharju is also possible, as are disc golf or other ball games.
