OSAO wins medals in four skills at the National Skills Competition

The best professionals in Finland competed in Turku at the Taitaja2025 event from May 5 to 8. The OSAO team secured medals in four categories.

OSAO’s Taitaja2025 medalists:

Gold

  • Artturi Arola, Plumbing and Heating

Silver

  • Tomi Laurila, Cabinetmaking
  • Piatã Lorencini and Lilja Pyhtilä, Cooking (paired skill category)

Bronze

  • Aslak Ervasti and Ossi Tolppanen, Security Services (paired skill category)

The entire OSAO team and support staff celebrated the competition success.

“Once again, our team was outstanding” commented team leader Sauli Jaara.

“The students worked professionally and focused throughout the competition. We can be proud of each and every one of our competitors!”

This year, 10 students from OSAO competed in six different skill categories. Additionally, one OSAO student participated as an invited competitor in the interior design skills demonstration.

More than 400 students in vocational education across Finland competed for national medals in Turku. Medals were awarded in 47 categories, five of which were TaitajaPLUS categories designed for students who require special support.

Next year, the Finnish championship in professional skills will be contested again in Central Uusimaa, where the event will be organized by the Keski-Uusimaa Joint Municipal Authority for Education and Training  Keuda.
